Frequently Asked Questions

Welcome to the MobyMax reports FAQ. Find answers to common questions about our weekly progress reporting service. Whether you're a parent trying to access reports, a school considering our service, or someone switching from another provider — we've got you covered.

Accessing Your Reports

How do I log in to see my child's reports?

Go to mobymaxreports.co.za and click the "Login" button. Use the email address your school has on file. If you've never logged in before, you'll need to request login details from us — accounts are only created when you register for MobyMax through our service.

Need help? WhatsApp us for same-day assistance.

I don't have login details. How do I get access?

Access to our parent portal is only available if your child is registered on MobyMax through our service. We don't provide login access to families using other MobyMax providers.

If you're currently with another provider and want weekly reports, you'll need to switch to us. We make switching easy — chat with us about switching.

When are reports sent out?

Reports are emailed every Friday by 5pm South African time. The report covers the week ending that Friday (Monday to Friday activity).

You can also log in to the parent portal anytime to view current and historical reports — up to 52 weeks of data is available.

Understanding Your Reports

What subjects are tracked in the reports?

We track all 9 MobyMax curriculum subjects:

  • Mathematics
  • Language
  • Foundational Reading
  • Reading Skills (Literature)
  • Reading Skills (Informational)
  • Writing Workshop
  • Phonics
  • Science
  • Social Studies

Each subject shows time spent and achievement percentage for the week.

What do the benchmark levels mean?

Benchmark levels show your child's starting point when they first took the MobyMax placement tests. For example, a benchmark of "Grade 4.5" means your child tested at a mid-Grade 4 level in that subject.

This is important because MobyMax adapts to your child's actual level — not their school grade. A Grade 6 student might have a Grade 4 benchmark in Maths, meaning MobyMax identified gaps and is working to fill them.

What's a good achievement percentage?

We recommend students aim for:

  • 80%+ (Green): Excellent — on track or ahead
  • 60-79% (Amber): Acceptable — watch for trends
  • Below 60% (Red): Needs attention — intervention recommended

Remember, achievement percentage reflects whether weekly time and progress targets are being met — not test scores.

For Schools

How much does it cost for schools?

Pricing for schools is R150–R250 per student per month, depending on volume. This includes:

  • Full MobyMax curriculum access (all 9 subjects)
  • Weekly progress reports to parents
  • Teacher dashboard access
  • Same-day setup and training
  • Ongoing WhatsApp support

No setup fees. No contracts. Your first period is free until the 1st of the following month.

Can teachers see reports for all their students?

Yes. Teachers get access to a dashboard showing all students assigned to them. They can see:

  • Weekly progress for each student
  • Class averages and trends
  • Students who are falling behind
  • Individual student deep-dives

Many teachers share the reports with students directly: "This is what your parents see every week" — it's a great motivation tool.

How long does setup take?

Same-day setup is standard. Here's what happens:

  • Day 1: You send us your student list
  • Day 1: We create all accounts and configure your school
  • Day 1-2: Students complete placement tests
  • Friday: First weekly reports are sent

Most schools are fully operational within 24-48 hours.

Switching Providers

We're already using MobyMax with another provider. Can we switch?

Absolutely. Many schools and homeschool families switch to us specifically because they want weekly progress reports — something most providers don't offer.

Here's how switching works:

  • Step 1: Give notice to your current provider as per your agreement
  • Step 2: We set you up immediately with new logins
  • Step 3: Students take placement tests (they won't lose progress — MobyMax adapts to their level)
  • Step 4: We only start billing after your notice period ends

No double payments. No disruption to learning.

Will my child lose their progress if we switch?

No. MobyMax uses adaptive placement tests to identify your child's current level in each subject. When they start with us, they'll take new placement tests that will set them at their actual ability level — regardless of what system they used before.

Think of it like changing schools: your child doesn't forget what they've learned. The new placement tests simply confirm where they are and ensure they continue from the right point.

Why should we switch from our current provider?

The main reason schools and families switch to us is weekly progress reports. Most MobyMax providers give you access to the platform but leave parents in the dark — they only see the basic student dashboard.

With us, parents receive a clear, easy-to-understand progress report every Friday. This means:

  • Problems are spotted in 7 days, not 10 weeks
  • Parents stay engaged and informed
  • No "surprise" conversations at term end
  • 52 weeks of historical data to track trends

We also offer competitive pricing (R150-R250/student) and same-day WhatsApp support.
